So the SP1 for Vs.NET 2005 was
released. Beware that the installer to this thing is, without a doubt, the most horrific piece of software who emerged from Redmond in a long time. To make the story short....i have started the installer and had only 2 GB of free space. After waiting for 1h the installer stopped with the error code 2908. I kept clicking ok but the installer wouldn't rollback (just kept showing the error message) so i have to kill it. The result.....NET 2.0 redist, VS.NET 2005 and Sql Server were unusable. The installer wreak havoc into the VC++ 8.0 side by side CRT redist. Detailed instructions on how to fix this can be found
here If that doesn't work try also to delete the "Policies" folder.
All in one, i'm very very dissapointed by this :(. Lost a few precious hours because that crappy installer COULD NOT verify from the start if it has enough free disk space.
